Another second look……for the restless spirit in you

Happy Sunday.  In the absence of a guest blogger we are giving another look at a post from the past.  If anyone is interested in Meditation Sundays, please let us know in the comments section.

“She’s a restless spirit on an endless flight” – The Eagles (by Fee)

Posted by

I used to think restlessness was unhealthy.  My Dad was a Marine. We were taught to remain focused on the task at hand!  I perceived being restless as not being determined or directed.  On this ever-evolving journey,  I am learning that being a little restless is actually the Universe’s way of getting us to move.  I am not referring to being distracted, that’s a whole other blog :) .  I am talking about that deep down gut feeling that I might not belong here.  That nagging question is this really what I want to be doing?

We all get comfortable in our spaces.  The job, the relationships, the workout routine, the classes.  We could go on and on.  But when one or more of those places become uncomfortable, there is a shift occurring. Your energy to participate is just not there.  It may manifest itself in apathy or uneasiness.  We just don’t care anymore.  Or we stay firmly planted in the wrong place and do not move until the pain of that wrong place becomes so great that we have no choice but to move.

When I heard that line from the Eagles song today, I was gently reminded that we are all on an endless flight. We are all seekers & searchers, on a journey to something better, something great   What is wrong with seeking that better job, better lifestyle habits, more suitable partner, or that “A” in class that has been elusive?  Good enough is not your destiny.  Your purpose is far greater.  The Universe has amazing things in store for you.  Your restlessness is the Universe’s call to keep searching.  Let’s go girlies!

Just for today, can you identify any areas of your life where you are feeling restless?  Is the Universe calling you to make a change?  Is there any action you would like to take to leave good enough behind on the way to great?  We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below.  PS the Eagles song is “Witchy Woman” in case that was bugging you :) .

Saturday’s Question – What would you do with 20 seconds of insane courage?

follow your heart“Sometimes all you need is 20 seconds of insane courage, literally 20 seconds of just embarrassing bravery, and I promise you something great will come of it! “ -We Bought a Zoo

For the last few years I have been working diligently to become in tune with that inner God voice.  That Divine Inspiration that calls us to a greater good, to our life’s purpose.  Along the way, the voice has inspired, motivated and guided. However, in the last few months something has changed.  My vision and purpose is no longer just an idea, it has become a crystal clear calling. I have been shown a path, and directed to take a substantial amount of action to get where it is I am called. I have unquestioningly taken and completed every task, duty or requirement as directed.  It has been a lot of work.  However, in these last few weeks I feel as though I am literally being ushered, maybe even pulled, to my destiny.  So compelled, I used my 20 seconds of insane courage to make some pretty bold and brave moves, trusting that something great is coming.  Without the bold moves, my dream may die, and if it does, my spirit might just go with it.  The drink took my spirit once before; never again.  So with a heart full of grace and a child-like faith in God, I daringly move forward.  So I hope that you will stay tuned in my friends, because my 20 seconds of embarrassing bravery is about to pay off!

And I ask you today, what you would do with your 20 seconds of insane courage?  What would you change?  What would it look like?  Because I promise you, something great will come of it!

It takes a leap of faith…….
