Do you know what I know?
We love themes here at Lipstick-Chat so today we finish off with the last of the three questions contained in my favorite Christmas carol. Do you know what I know? I have a lifelong habit of saying, “you know” at the end of my sentences. My nephew, Brendan, has desperately tried to help me break this practice, to no avail. He will smile and cutely reply, “Nope… I don’t know”.
We all know things. We know things that others know. There are things that only we know, and we are constantly on a quest to know more. But in the song, once the king “knew”, he instructed all the people to “pray for peace, people everywhere.” So that got me thinking, how many things do we know that require a prayer or intention for peace? We know people who currently serve, or have served in our military. For them, we pray for peace. We know people who are fighting physical and mental illness. For them, our universal intention is for peace. We know people that struggle with self-esteem and self image, always thinking they are not good enough. For them, we pray for inner peace. We know people who are losing or recently lost a loved one. For them, we pray for solace and peace. We all know someone who just had a baby or is going to have a baby. For them, we pray not only for their peace but also for the ability to give, receive and teach peace.
My prayer for each of us today is that we truly know inner peace. Even if it just for an hour, there is nothing like resting in the knowledge that all is fundamentally good and we are taken care of.
What do you know that we can all add to our prayer or intention for peace?
Síocháin (peace).

I know that sometimes in life, Peace can be elusive. What it required of me is to slow down, perhaps stop what I am doing, thinking, or experiencing when it is in conflict with maintaining a sense of Peace in my life. Then I pray to accept the things I cannot change, pray for the courage to change the things I can, and pray for the wisdom to know the difference.
Thanks Kim. Praying for acceptance and serenity is on the books for me always
Thank you….

Love you HQ!!!
Another great posting, I think you covered most of it and Kim added the rest. Thanks for reminding us what is important in life.
PS Your Dad was always trying to stop you from saying “you know” also.
Hi Mom! I almost forgot that Dad kept trying to get me to break that habit LOL. It used to make him crazy especially when we worked at Precision together! LOVE YOU!
P.S. Brendan looks like a Fee and he has a lot of Dad’s great traits! Love you Tate!!
So timely. Thanks!
Thanks Warren. I appreciate your input
My Dad used to say ” No Jennifer I don’t know , why don’t you tell me ” After I would say you know ? lol . Inner peace ? Yes I have experienced it . I know when I tell the truth to others and myself . I have a lot more peace in my life . <3
