Becky Laubenthal
My name is Becky and I am a wife, mother, teacher, and an insatiable information seeker. I love my husband and children fiercely, though I think that raising a family takes more courage than skydiving and really does require a rather sizable village. I love our home and finding interesting and beautiful things to put in it. I love gardening and pretty flowers. I love my girlfriends, all strong and smart women, who have listened with infinite patience and given me the best advice. I love coffee and its rich and sordid history. I love food- I love to eat it, grow it, make it, serve it, research it, and talk about it all day long. Most serious discussions I have had in my life, whether happy or sad, have happened over a plate of delicious food. When someone in my family is broken-hearted, the first thing I think to do is cook for them.
I love the Internet. I can keep in touch with friends and family who live far away. I love that I can find recipes from folks who painstakingly post step-by-step directions and beautiful pictures to go along with them simply because they adore food. I love how savvy of a shopper I can be with product information and reviews just a few clicks away, whether it is for a chandelier or a maple tree. I love that if I have to write a sympathy note and I just type, “how to write a sympathy note,” there are 17,300,000 results 0.51 seconds. I love that I can research foot pain and go to my doctor’s appointment with 3 possible diagnoses, although I’m not sure he feels the same.
I am excited about this blog because it combines all that I love-relationships, family, wellness, home, the quest for a fulfilling career, and always a bit of pretty as the cherry on top. I look forward to meeting you and sharing all that we know and hold dear!

Again I am biased because Becky is my Daughter. Always doing or researching may things. I love being around her because she is happy go lucky and so interesting and interested in so many things. We are so different but in many ways the same. I have come to appreciate her for who she has become. I want you to enjoy her as much as I do.
Mom- “I’m blessed and I couldn’t be more grateful. Do you want to know why? Because I’m a mother, but that’s only half of it. I’m blessed because, when I need to, I can still just be a daughter. I get the feeling that there is nothing more precious than to have both of these roles, simultaneously.” ― Adrianna Stepiano. Thank you for always supporting me, no matter the whim. Very much I love you!
Becky, wonderful post! looking forward to more. I love many of the same things you do… except I love my husband, not yours…well not like that.
Best wishes as you launch your blog, enjoy the ride.
Always enjoy your wit, Kim. Thank you for your support from the bottom of my heart!
I think I love you already! How can I not love someone who loves food like I do?! One of my all-time best vacations was one where my buddy & I spent pretty much every meal discussing & deciding where and what we were going to have at our next meal. Some people may call that boring & wonder if we had nothing else to talk about but me – I called it pure bliss! Also, there is so many memories I have that go hand-in-hand with food. Please bring it on!
Sounds like the perfect vacation to me! Thank you for joining us on this ride- your enthusiasm for food and life is evident and I am happy you are here to share!
Tavia – we are so happy you are joining us! One of my favorite of your sayings….”I eat therefore I run
” Words to live by! luvya Fee
Becky, I love you! Congrats on the launch of lipstick-chat. You’ve worked so hard to create this blog and I am so proud of you. I am blessed to share this journey with you. Rich, wonderful experiences and lots of scrumptous food… I love how you sometimes clap your hands in excited anticipation of the next tasty morsel…
Thank you for taking me along on this ride. Very much I love you!
Love love love to you Joe L. My world is brighter for you being in it.
My first post didn’t work, so I’m trying again, I am biased because Becky is my baby sister, who I have loved all of her life. She has been an amazing, inquistive, person since she has been born. She is a great, loving, kind, patient Mother and a Great, loving Wife to Joe, who I’m just getting to know better. They make a great couple, love the same things, and ride off in the sunset on Joe’s Harley. Becky loves to stop at unique shops /cafes for her love of coffee and unique things. Beky loves to cook, tries out recipes, takes after our Grandma Kolar. Becky loves to garden and does great with all of her flowers which she takes after Mom with her green thumb. Becky loves to read, she knows about so many things and if she doesn’t, she finds out about it. She is a wealth of information. Becky, you will do so well with this blog, you are such a great teacher, writer have such a great sense of humor that this blog will be great. love you always and forever, your sister, Vicki
